The Under the Stairs Project
The Under the Stairs Project is a competition for Interior Designers, aiming to inspire visitors and encourage them to take home new ideas, information and supplier contacts. This competition focuses on the uplift in the use of unconventional spaces and we are inviting pioneering interior stylists to come and bring their ideas to life at the show, using colour, materials, and patterns to achieve some impressive spaces.
This year’s finalists dressed their space with products which are easily accessible to visitors and are either in stock or online from current British retailers, manufacturers and designers.
The winner of this year's competition was announced on the Grand Theatre at 14:50pm on Saturday 4 May. Judges included Kevin McCloud, Barbara Chandler from the London Evening Standard, Jenny Gibbs from the KLC School of Design and Kunle Barker. Congratulations to this year's winner Chloe Spillett.
“With the increasing trend towards smaller homes every bit of space needs to be put to use. This is a really fun and interesting challenge and I am looking forward to seeing how the entrants solve some of the related practical problems and the creative ideas that emerge.” - Jenny Gibbs, KLC School of Design
