Important travel information for Grand Designs Live Birmingham – M42 Junction 6, Bickenhill
The NEC remains fully open and accessible, and inbound routes are operating as normal.
National Highways has identified deterioration to the bridge on the northern side of the M42 Junction 6 roundabout. The bridge is due to be demolished, with temporary traffic restrictions and diversions expected to remain in place over the coming months.
The restrictions mainly affect traffic leaving the NEC. Traffic using Southway can currently only access the M42 Northbound, while other outbound traffic is being diverted via Eastway and Northway. The M42 itself remains open in both directions beneath the bridge.
