Tomoko Kawauchi
MSGLD - Member of the Society of Garden and Landscape Designers
Tomoko Kawauchi gained a degree in architecture from the University of Shiga Prefecture in Japan before moving to the UK to study for a National Diploma in Horticulture at Writtle College in 2005.
She joined Charlotte Rowe Garden Design as a Project Designer in 2006 and worked closely with Charlotte Rowe on a range of designs for seven years before joining another prestigious London design studio. She rejoined Charlotte Rowe in 2018 as Design Director and brings to the studio her wide experience of design projects in the UK and overseas including private projects, public spaces and RHS show gardens. Tomoko now leads the small team who come from a range of backgrounds including landscape architecture, garden design, horticulture and project management.
Tomoko became a fully accredited member of the Society of Garden + Landscape Designers early in 2022. She is thought to be the first ever Japanese member of the Society.
