Sustainable Design Studio

Rory Dickens is a leading designer of sustainable products and the founder of Sustainable Design Studio, a UK company tackling the global plastic problem with machines that let people recycle plastic where it is thrown away, instead of shipping it somewhere else to become someone else's problem.

He designs desktop recycling equipment for homes, schools and workshops, from filament makers that convert plastic bottles into 3D printing filament to injection machines that turn household plastic waste into new products at home. He is also the developer of the Plastic Scanner, a free app that identifies what type of plastic you are holding so you can recycle it properly. Everything is designed and made in Hampshire and is now usedries. He has worked on projects for brands including Lush and Capri Sun, and designed a watch made from plastic waste collected on Mount Everest.

At Grand Designs Live, Rory will show what the plastic in your kitchen bin can actually become. in more than 100 count
