Julia is managing Director of Castle Planning.

As a planning consultant, Julia has experience of coordinating and undertaking a range of planning work, including appraisals of the planning opportunity of sites, provision of strategic planning advice, pursuit of sites through the planning policy process and the preparation, submission and negotiation of planning applications and planning appeals.
She advises on a range of land use types, including commercial, residential, hotels and film studios. She has experience of dealing with challenging sites, in particular in areas of landscape sensitivity, including the Green Belt and in Conservation Areas.
Julia has worked for a range of public and private sector clients and regularly works with multi-disciplinary teams in the pursuit of successful planning outcomes. She has a specialist knowledge of custom and self build development and sits on the Right to Build Task Force, providing advice to local authorities and other organisations on the delivery of custom and self-build development. She is an established speaker and writer on planning issues.
