Lomas and Mitchell Architects
Lomas and Mitchell Architects are an award-winning Practice known for their low-energy, healthy, beautiful buildings. With a focus on private, bespoke homes, Jillian Mitchell and Richard Lomas take a personalised approach to each project. Jillian says "Home is such an important place for us... somewhere to feel safe, to nurture and to thrive. Every project is different and we (LaMA) take time to understand what our clients seek to achieve with their projects and to guide them through the process, from start to finish." The Derbyshire Longhouse featured on Grand Designs in September 2022. A Paragraph 84 project for one-off houses in the countryside, the landscape-led approach ensured planning approval was achieved with unanimous support at the planning committee - no mean feat! The Practice has recently completed a deep retrofit of a Victorian four-storey residence, making the building fabric energy-efficient and creating a family home fit for the 21st century. The Practice is currently working on a listed water mill, again stripping back the building fabric and removing many of the 1980s unsympathetic alterations to create a glorious family home. Whether you are remodelling, renovating or rebuilding your home, whether you have a heritage asset or seek a sleek, contemporary addition (or anything in between!) LaMA will work with you to ensure you get the most from your home. www.lomasandmitchell.co.uk
