James Scott
James Scott, a Fellow of the SGLD, founded The Garden Company in Hertfordshire in 1991. He is highly committed to creating sustainable gardens that celebrate nature, support peoples’ wellbeing and positively impact the environment.
The Garden Company practice works across private gardens, public realm spaces and commercial landscapes. Recent work includes commissions for the National Trust at Cliveden, alongside a portfolio of award-winning residential garden transformations.
The company’s design services are available nationwide; its landscaping and gardening services can be accessed in and around Hertfordshire, including North London. James was appointed in 2026 as the Head Judge of the SGLD Design Awards panel. He is also a member of the SGLD’s accreditation panel and Pro Landscaper’s Project Awards judging panel.
