The British Institute of Interior Design (BIID) is the only professional institute for interior designers in the UK.

Our growing membership represents both the commercial and residential sectors, from heritage to cutting edge. In addition to rigorous entry requirements which assess training, experience and professionalism, we require our members to continue their professional development throughout their career to ensure their continued expertise in design process, practice and regulatory matters.

It is a priority for us that all designers working within the UK have a professional home. That’s why we’ve launched our Interior Design Awards, showcasing the very best of British design from the depth and breadth of the UK. We’ve also appointed regional ambassadors, so you always have a point of contact who understands the industry specific to where you are. Designers can access e-learning opportunities and resources throughout the year with us, meaning regardless of where you’re based, you’re included.
