Easily identifiable as smaller than the rest of the bedrooms in the home, the Box Room, traditionally seen in British suburban homes, is often left unused, forgotten, or as dumping ground for stuff that doesn’t fit anywhere else.
Grand Designs Live London 2020 welcomes ‘The Great British Box Room Competition’, which will see a range of interior designers competing to come up with diverse, creative and clever concepts to transform the small space.
After submitting a mood board of design ideas and an overall theme for the room, six finalists will be chosen to bring their ideas to life at the event. Visitors can browse around the room sets to take home ideas, inspiration and useful supplier contacts for their own home designs.
The competition winner will be selected by judges including Kevin McCloud and Jenny Gibbs from the KLC School of Design, with the announcement taking place on the Grand Theatre during the event.
