Its 3-layer structure—featuring an apple waste blend core, Tencel backing, and a water-based, partially bio-based PU coating—delivers durability and high quality. The journey of Beyond Leather Materials started in Denmark as a university idea back in 2017 with the idea of finding value in the untapped treasures of apple waste from juice and cider production. A team of internationals was hooked by the idea and turned the project into the company, known as Beyond Leather Materials, with a clear mission to Make Waste Beautiful. At Beyond Leather, we develop and produce Leap (as leftover apples), the next-gen, leather alternative made with apple waste. Our vision is to offer an ultimate alternative to traditional and synthetic leather wherever it is used today.

The commitment to innovation drives us to turn upcycled apple waste into Leap, which challenges the norms of today's material world. What some see as waste, we transform into something entirely new and valuable.
