Harry is a graduate of the University of Northumbria. His Wave Cycle is sustainable plastic furniture made from recycled surf and bodyboards. “Around 16,000 cheap, polystyrene bodyboards are abandoned on UK beaches every year often after a single use,” Harry observes. “My process can also recycle polystyrene packaging so that this notoriously short-life material could be fed back into a circular manufacturing system.” Harry is just back from Kenya where he’s been designing local fishing boats from waste plastic. In June he will travel with Seven Clean Seas to the Indonesian island of Bintan to help manage waste marine plastic and develop new materials. Harry will also show his Raw Furniture which uses Cornish tree species to regenerate the local economy, increase planting and foster woodland management.
