07 Oct 2023
Grand Designs Magazine Theatre
The self-commissioned house building market in the UK is changing fast, with more large scale, multi-home, sites coming onto the market than ever before but our neighbouring countries seem to be decades in front, or are they! In this session, Kevin will explore what is driving this change and what the ‘custom build’ housing model means for consumers. The audience will hear from the influential MP, Richard Bacon who is the architect of the Self-build and Custom Housebuilding Act and the author of the influential Bacon Review report on scaling of the UK self-commissioned housing market about what the Government is doing to make this form of housing mainstream.
