A manifesto for repair
Navpreet won the GREEN GRADS Earth Award 2022 “for the person who loves the planet the most.” Her goals are design activism, the circular economy and sustainability and she radiates commitment. “I want to tackle our throw-away culture and create positive social and environmental change.” Her compelling Prescient Sustainable Design Manifesto encourages users, designers, and manufacturers to understand the impact design choices have on supply chains and the environment. Navpreet made an outsize concept iron to illustrate some of her convictions. Ideally, this would have modular parts that can be repaired over time. It would be made from existing broken appliances to reduce E-waste, reuse valuable materials and extend component lifecycles. Navpreet is a committed volunteer on many social projects, and a qualified swimming instructor.
