In recent years, we have been perfecting a wooden bath design. Currently, the leading high-end wooden baths are built gluing hundreds of small wooden blocks together before carving the mass away until the bath takes shape. Structurally, there is nothing wrong with this build process but aesthetically it does produce a patchwork of disjointed grain where all the blocks meet. Instead, heavily influenced by traditional boat building techniques, we have pioneered a steam bending methodology to approach the construction. Bending the bath to shape allows the grain to flow uninterrupted encouraging the viewer to step back and focus entirely on form.  Additionally, having far fewer glue joins is inherently stronger which allows us to sculpt the walls much thinner. Not only has this helped aesthetically but also assists greatly in keeping the bath relatively lightweight.
