Clapham Townhouses
The townhouses at Macaulay Road were a modern re-interpretation of a typical South London typology, and restored a portion of the streetscape which had most recently been occupied by an out-of-scale and dilapidated mid-century office block.
The interior layouts were meticulously researched and also inspired by the townhouse typology, and a narrative approach to expanding and contracting space, and the sequence of how its users would move through and use the building.
Many external architectural details take inspiration from the surrounding buildings, including the crafted balustrades and sculptural door and timber surround panelling.
Squire and Partners were the architects and interior designers of the Clapham Townhouses. Our founders worked on this project during their previous employment at Squire and Partners as architects.
