The Brief

Our clients were workign with a local oak frame house builder on a new build turnkey project. They saw our beautiful limestone and engineered oak flooring in one of the showhomes and decided to book a site visit. 

They wanted a warm and neutral stone floor for the downstairs with a seamless transition into a warm and cosy oak floor in their lounge. 

Site Visit

Initially, our customers visited the showroom and chose two of their favourite stone floors and a couple of different finishes for the natural engineered oak flooring. We the arrange a home visit once the structure of their new build property was nearly complete.

Gus, one of our dedicated consultants, visited the site to understand the home’s unique layout and architectural details. Armed with full-size samples of our limestone tiles and a few example boards of the engineered oak in a number of different finishes, he worked closely with the clients to ensure each room’s lighting and features enhanced the chosen flooring.

The Old Oast House was a perfect fit with it's neutral base, gentle warmth and flecks of fossils throughout. The colour of the natural stone flooring worked perfectly with the our unfinsihed engineered oak stained with treatex natural and a top coat of hardwax oil for decades of protection

This approach of visiting the home ensured that the stone and oak flooring complimented each other within the natural light. It also meant that the oak flooringcolour tone could be matched to the properties oak frame structure resulting in a floor that will become part of the fabric of the property for years to come. 

The project

We worked directly with the house builders and arranged to install both the limestone floor tiles and the engineered oak flooring.

Gus kept in touch with the construction company as with many new builds, the project timeline shifted. Thanks to our in-house flooring installation team, we accommodated changes, reducing stress for both the construction company and home owners.
