Both award winners, artist, Lisa Traxler and her husband, designer, Lincoln Miles built the burnt larch and enamelled steel clad ‘House In The Trees’ in 2010, followed by Kevin McCloud for Grand Designs.
Since then they have gone on to build a further collaborative home on the site of a WWII radar bunker on the Isle of Wight.
This brutalist architectural home sits in the wild, coastal landscape on the south of the island. It has a unique door and window frame designed by Lincoln with dazzle cladding by Lisa; both created from a resin coated paper composite to withstand the coastal storms.
Their latest build project has taken them from the Imperial War Museum in London to Latvia where Lisa researched the dazzle camouflaged of WW1 and Lincoln designed the cross-laminate and block work building.
