1847 is a small collection of Restaurants located originally in the Midlands and North West of England. Named after the year the Vegetarian Society formed, 1847 was established by Damien Davenport in Manchester city centre in 2010 and has since opening in the centre of Birmingham, Bristol & Brighton. Our aim is to serve exceptional British food alongside a full range of cocktails, spirits, wines and beers.
Located in the beautiful Great Western Arcade, 1847 Birmingham opened in September 2013. The name originates from the year that the Vegetarian Society was founded in the North West. We were thrilled to be voted the best vegetarian restaurant outside of London by "Cook Vegetarian" magazine 2014. We offer two menus - Our "Grazing, sharing and exploring" menu is a modern approach to dining, allowing you to sample some smaller, mezze atyle plates that are perfect for sharing or our mini a la carte. The "taste of 1847" menu is a series of dishes designed by our team of chef and showcases the best of 1847. Using seasonal and foraged elements, this really is a gastronomic delight!
