The extensive range of work extends from individual pieces such as a jewellery box or boardroom table to kitchens, libraries and bathrooms and to the interior design and fitting out of entire houses and commercial projects.

Tim Wood designs and makes furniture of the highest quality. What sets the company apart is the fact that it offers a truly bespoke service: everything is tailor-made to a client's exact requirements.

What exactly is a ‘bespoke’ kitchen?
The word bespoke means that something has been made to order, implying that the item has been specially made for a particular person. In terms of furniture a truly bespoke kitchen is one that has been designed and made specifically for you – not just that you have ordered it and the company has delivered their pre-made cupboards and shelves and fitted them in your kitchen. Lots of people claim that they offer a bespoke service but very few actually do.

At Tim Wood Ltd we start quite literally with a blank piece of paper at the first meeting, asking a multitude of questions that are appropriate for each project. We put ourselves in the client’s shoes but with our knowledge and experience. Some of the many questions that we need answers to include: Do they collect things? Do they have any appliances in mind? What do they like and dislike about their current kitchen? What storage do they need? We ascertain what kind of sink or sinks they would like, what appliances they prefer, what overall design style they like or dislike. If they live in a listed property or a house with a particular style, would they like to see that style reflected in the kitchen design? All these questions and more are designed to tease out of the client their preferences, in order to establish a workable brief.

We design and make kitchens for unusual spaces in a wide range of properties. We have made kitchens for many grand and listed houses and apartments worldwide, as well as kitchens in conventional houses. We often get involved in the minute detail of a kitchen from handmade dovetail drawers, custom made extraction systems, custom made stainless steel bins to fit a particular space and decorative carvings and relief work. We use a mixture of unusual timbers, materials and finishes to create a truly unique result.

In a truly bespoke kitchen, the space is completely optimised. Everything is designed to make the very best use of the space, from the kitchen units to the drawers, the island and the worktops are all specially selected and made for that individual client. We design the height of the worktops and appliance cabinets to suit the height of the end users. In other words, it’s no good giving a very tall or a very small client a kitchen that is not comfortable or practical for them to use.

So, commissioning a bespoke kitchen has numerous advantages: from the ultimate in space planning, living with something unique that suits your personality and your family and reflects your own individual style. A bespoke kitchen adds cachet and value to a property. A prestigious house or apartment needs a kitchen that reflects and extends its value.

At Tim Wood Ltd we ensure that commissioning a bespoke kitchen is an easy and enjoyable process. We guide you through the process, find out exactly what you like and suggest what might suit you best. We always go out of our way to give you exactly what you want. A truly bespoke kitchen should enhance the owners’ lives and add style, cachet and value to the property.
