Known for his Best Food Presentation awards for “Bite of Las Vegas” in the years 2007,2008 and 2009, Chef Louis Kenji Huang combines the best of contemporary, and traditional Japanese cuisines in order to create a truly unique dining experience. With more than 20 years of experience in the industry, serving in prestigious restaurants such as , Nobu, Wok ‘n Roll, Osaka of Japan, and many more, Chef Louis is a well-travelled, well-rounded culinary expert. Having attended many industry events, and dined at numerous Michelin-starred restaurants across the world, this distinguished chef has formed an invaluable array of ideas that have inspired his wonderful creations.
Raised in Japan, and moving on to live in the USA, Chef Louis combines outstanding traditional sushi knife skills with contemporary ‘showmanship’ aspects of cities like Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and New York. Chef Louis has led the Oliver Maki team to winning Horeca (Hotel-Restaurant-Café Show) Kuwait’s 2012, 2014, 2015, and 2016 Gold Medals for sushi display and preparation skills, along with two Boeker food safety and Hygiene awards. He has also led Maki Bahrain to winning Best Japanese Restaurant Newcomer, and Best Japanese Restaurant awards in 2010, and 2012 respectively.
Opening Oliver Maki London to rave reviews, this is only Chef Louis’ first step spearheading Oliver Maki Group’s expansion into the ‘West’ outside of the Middle East, where he currently leads six restaurant operations, which serve more than 1,500 visitors per day.
