Island Grill, at the iconic mid-century Lancaster London, is a mere ten paces from Lancaster Gate Underground Station and offers a contemporary split-level dining space. With its own private entrance opposite Hyde Park, it presents a modern European menu which changes with each season as part of its dedication to sustainability.
Island Grill’s sleek design was conceived by Stiff + Trevillion, the talent behind Wagamama and Fakhreldine. With a white limestone exterior and large glass entrance doors, Island Grill creates a striking visual impact on arrival. The 90 cover restaurant has vast floor-to-ceiling windows running along the two outside walls, allowing light to flood into the restaurant space. In the evenings, the back-lit ceiling panels create a warm ambiance. The open-plan kitchen design allows diners to view the chefs at work, adding another dimension to their gastronomic experience.
Adam began his career in Lancaster London’s prestigious apprentice scheme, where he worked throughout all areas of the kitchens whilst studying for his professional chef’s scholarship. Since graduating, Adam has made a fast ascent to the top of the ladder, having been promoted to Head Chef of Island Grill at the age of 25.
Since taking the reins as Head Chef, Adam has managed to cut the 100 mile cheeseboard down to 40 miles, as well as training the kitchen to carry out a ‘zero waste’ protocol.
Adam has been credited with maintaining the restaurant’s 2 AA rosettes, 3 star SRA rating and reaching the impressive position on Trip Advisor where Island Grill currently sits at 74 out of 18,444 restaurants in London.
