Don't forget to visit the Grand Show Gardens to see the entries for the Garden Designer of the year, showcasing the best of the designs from novice gardeners, that meet a certain brief.

The brief was to plan, design and build a show garden with the theme of contrast. We asked the designers to express this in whatever way they see fit, this could be with colour, texture, levels, or it could be abstract; for instance the contrast between cultures in Britain.

The judges will be Kevin McCloud, James Alexander-Sinclair, Mark Diacono and Alan Gardner. Judging will take place on Saturday 30th April at 3pm with the award giving and presentation on stage on Sunday the 1st May at 2.30pm.

We want our visitors to take inspiration from the designs and aspire to own a garden from the show. The three best design entries inspired by the Grand Designs ethos are built at the show ready to be judged by our celebrity panel.
