Eco Flooring UK was founded in 2008 by James Sanderson. He realised that hundreds of square metres of amazing quality solid wood flooring was being removed from demolition sites and literally thrown away or used in landfill. Through sheer drive, ambition and his natural talent for all things wood, Jim determined that he would create and design beautiful floors from the salvaged wood. His passion for wood developed in his early teens and progressed from cabinet making to solid wood flooring.
Jim has firmly established both himself and Eco Flooring as a leading contender in the UK wood-flooring marketplace, specialising in the supply and installation of top quality reclaimed solid wood flooring with the most amazing results. "Carrying out projects across the UK, we pride ourselves on good old-fashioned hard work, craftsmanship and dedication to providing our clients with stunning Reclaimed Floors intended for a lifetime."
Jim Sanderson was recently commissioned to create a bespoke floor for Louis Vuitton's second private museum. La Galerie, is located on the historic Louis Vuitton grounds in Asnieres-Sur-Seine and houses pieces from the family collection darting back to the 17th Century as well as modern day classics. It is used as a platform to display the designers 20th Century fashion.
Jim drew inspirations from Vuittons original packing trunks and sourced antique reclaimed Oak and Walnut from a Parisian Châteaux. Using marquetry techniques Jim was able to create a stunning parquet floor, synonymous with Vuittons trademark checkerboard design.
It is not the first time Jim has worked with high profile clients; he is the market leader in bespoke French parquet flooring. His clients include Sarah Beeny, Myleene Klass and make-up artist Christine Blundell. He works closely with Channel 4 and has been featured on Grand Designs, Property Ladder, Double your house for half your money and Beeny’s Resoration Nightmare.
Sarah Beeny commented “Eco Flooring UK started in one room at Rise Hall and did such a beautiful job that they ended up rapidly working around most of the house. I was sceptical that anyone could save Rise Hall’s wooden floors, but Eco Flooring UK has exceeded my expectations and they now look amazing.”
