How to create the right ambience in your outdoor space

Have you just moved home, redesigned your garden or added an extension or garden room?  If so you will probably be looking to maximise that all-important outdoor space.

As we enter Spring and colour begins to return to the garden we can’t wait to get back outdoors with everyone hoping for a warm and sunny 2016.

To help get you in the mood we have put together a few options to create an ambience that may suit your lifestyle and will hopefully give you some inspiration for your own space.

Smaller Spaces

Even if your space is small you can still add style and character with a carefully chosen bistro or café table and chairs.  Consider the space you have.  Would a square table fit better than a round?  Do you want a traditional or contemporary setting?  Is it a working space as well as a relaxing place? Perhaps stacking chairs could be a better option for you.

The chairs in this photo are stackable and completely weatherproof, therefore no protection is needed from the weather.  An excellent choice if a more practical option is required.

Bringing the Inside Out

Perhaps you have a glass box extension, conservatory, bi-fold doors or a fantastic new garden room?  If so you may be searching for furniture that will work both inside and out to create that perfect balance.

We love this range of teak tables combined with natural rattan chairs.  Available in different styles the white adds a fresh, contemporary feel that helps create a bright, airy space indoors yet can also be used in the garden to blend the two areas together.  The photographs below show how the same product can look in different settings and colourways.

Relaxing Spaces

If you’re looking for seating to relax there are several things to bear in mind.  Do you want a large social area close to the house or somewhere tucked away down the end of the garden for a quiet read away from it all?  Will you need large lounge chairs, a recliner, sun bed or even a beach or poolside chair?   Each has its own benefits but sometimes finding the right one to suit your space and personality can prove a little more challenging.

An option that we think is a little more quirky are the wooden and rope deckchairs with two seating positions shown in the photo below.  They would look great dotted around the garden or alternatively would make quite a statement on your decking.

Colour

Colour is always a great addition.  Be brave and embrace it!  People often struggle with small areas of the house or garden that are crying out for an injection of colour and personality.  It is fun, individual and can be used in so many different ways.  Pair the chairs with a rustic kitchen table, or a large white table in your conservatory.  If you’re feeling brave, why not mix and match the colours for a more eclectic look.  As long as you’re liking it, anything goes!
